Furrow Board in Black

Found in Accoya, Norfolk.

These serving boards are contemporary yet timeless. Shaped in oak and finished in ebonised black, the grooves are hand carved one by one to create the furrowed surface section, and a square eyelet is inspired by flour-grinding mill stones.

Maker, AlexThe maker
Alex of Studio Arbor is based in Devon, and works out of an old watermill a stone’s throw from the river Exe. He combines traditional and modern craft techniques with contemporary sensibilities to make sculptural homewares grounded in function, with attention to detail, form, and texture. Timbers are sourced from local arborists and sustainably managed estate woodlands, often in small batches using timber that naturally becomes available.
