A breathtaking fusion of mid-century modern furniture with quirky contemporary style. This apartment – one of a pair – was the basis of our first moodboard for Kip, epitomising everything we wanted to represent.
This is the prettiest bedhead we’ve ever seen, an extravagent fan of wicker that offsets luxurious white waffle bedlinen. The vintage bedside table is another clever contrast, and the muted Farrow & Ball shades pull it all together.
Bathroom of dreams. An industrial-chic monsoon shower, offset by a vintage radiator and reclaimed wooden walls. A rolltop bath of exquisite beauty, just behind the camera lens. And then there are all the small details that wow you when you stay: tiny handcarved vases; a sprawl of plants; Piglet bedlinens. You’ll Instagram every corner.
You’re surrounded by the breathtaking Cambrian Mountains, but it’s the quirky interiors of this little cottage that’ll beckon you here. Those gnarled beams. Those stain-glass windows. And the joyful blend of colour and character throughout. A very special place indeed.
It’ll come as no surprise that the owner of Romney Marsh Retreat is an interiors stylist. Her weather-boarded little grey house cleverly channels New England, Art Deco and boho-chic all at the same time, a mix that sounds insane but is style personified. It’s probably our most popular hideaway.
What a spot for a lazy morning, drinking Nespresso, eating honey on sourdough toast, and carefully detailing the clever touches that make this kitchen so special. Vintage glass frames holding tiny pressed flowers. Pretty panelling and farmhouse-kitchen tiles. And classic Shaker-style cabinets, painted ‘Burford Green’ to salute the beautiful medieval Cotswolds village beyond those walls.
You’ll be stunned to realise that these gorgeous interiors are somehow housed within a shepherd’s hut. Yet there’s a kingsize bed with luxury linens, the cosiest breakfast table (avocado on toast is on the house), even a rolltop bath in the ensuite bathroom, with Bramley bubble bath for long lazy soaks. All the perks of a boutique hotel with a brilliant price tag.
Simple and pared-back; oh so beautiful. We love the stripped-back floorboards and the peaceful art adorning those white panelled walls. All who stay say it soothes their soul.
