An incredible eco design hut and hot tub, cradled in peaceful Dorset countryside (sleeps 2)
Space & setting.
Just wow. This dramatic, design-led beauty juxtaposes cutting-edge style with rural life on a farm, somewhere deep in the gentle contours of Thomas Hardy country. It comes as no surprise that the partners behind it are respectively an architect and furniture aficionado for the likes of Conran and Nordic brand Åben. Minimalistic and modular interiors are softened and warmed with muted corals and blues — including a Verner Panton flowerpot light in sunshine yellow — and a superking bed perches on a mezzanine level. There’s a film projector for rainy days and curated Spotify playlists for every mood. Just wow.
Even the eco credentials of this hut impress. Set in a rewilded patch of land, the corrugated structure harnesses Passivhaus principles and sustainable tech such as a vaporised shower that uses 40% less water. And it’s rural yet not remote, so while it’s heavenly to simply graze on an organic breakfast box then laze in the hot tub watching wild rabbits dart by, just beyond the fields are vineyards, villages and swathes of glorious Jurassic coastline to explore.

Surrounds.
- The scenic 90-mile Jubilee Trail runs straight through the farm, linking the Somerset and Hampshire borders. Tackle as much or little of it as you like.
- When the Jurassic Coast beckons, combine a trip to the indie shops and markets of Bridport, with a coastal walk and lunch at Burton Bradstock: both The Hive and Seaside Boarding House serve up excellent beach views.
- A mere 5-minute drive brings you to Langham Wine Estate, where you can take your pick of tours, tastings and picnic lunches in a sublime vineyard setting.
- Sculpture by the Lakes is owned by renowned sculptor Simon Gudgeon, with a gallery, artisan shop and fabulous cafe serving field-to-plate fare from its kitchen garden.
- The owners love The Hambro Arms in Milton Abbas, 30 minutes’ walk away: exposed brickwork, wood panelling and excellent local beers. The village itself is fudge-box pretty, with thatched roofs a’plenty.
