Set in 10 acres of wild coastal countryside, the former farm has been carefully metamorphosed into an idyllic retreat that invites shoes-off reconnections with nature and loved ones. Designed for groups of up to 14, accommodation is arranged over 3 self-contained cottages peppered with sociable nooks so that there are both spaces to gather (few more impressive than the Dairy’s ocean-backed dining room) and room to escape.
Kids will love hunting for crabs and rockpooling on the private shoreline, twirling in the repurposed buoy swing, building dens in the sprawling gardens and setting up camp in the Wendy House on the hill. Untroubled by liberated children, adults can dip in the sea, steal naps in the Shepherd’s Hut, forage herbs for dinner and watch lobster boats slipping gently over the waves. As the farm stands at the fringes of both Snowdonia National Park and the Llyn Peninsula, fabulous hill walks, kayaking adventures and beach outings beckon beyond the perimeter.
Ring the dinner bell to gather the troops for spectacular sunsets, campfire feasts and stargazing, before sinking into hotel-worthy beds beneath beautiful Welsh woollen bedspreads. Simple, unsullied escapism – the perfect antidote to modern life.
Getting here: you’ll need to drive, or get a direct train from London Euston to Bangor (before a 25 minute taxi ride to Ty Coch)

“We’ve been carbon neutral since 2009; each building has a ground-source heat pump for heating and hot water. All of our products are eco-friendly – Faith in Nature, Bio-D, Who Gives a Crap – and we source everything else as locally as possible. Gwen in the village bakes our cakes, the eggs are from Gwen’s daughter’s hens. The bread is baked locally and the coffee’s roasted at Poblado Coffee in Nantlle. We have an EV charger on site”

- Dip in the sea or a Llyn (lake) – you can book a swim guide to take you to some amazing wild spots.
- Kids will love rockpooling, paddling on the low-tide sandbank, crabbing, beachcombing and generally running free.
- Have a convivial pint at the Ty’n Llan community pub, a handsome ale house in the pretty village of Llandwrog.
- Visit Hootons Homegrown farm shop to pick up seasonal fruit and vegetables, locally reared meat and homemade produce.
- Order in oysters from Menai Oysters and Mussels to sample the unique flavour of the waterway’s shellfish. Best cooked over the campfire.
- Walk up Yr Eifl to Tre’r Ceiri (‘Town of Giants’), one of Wales’ most impressive hillforts, for spectacular views over the Llyn Peninsula and Cardigan Bay.
- Or climb the Nantlle Ridge or Cwm Penant for a taste of Snowdonia without the crowds.
- Castles are a’plenty in this area. Our favourite is Caernarfon, and afterwards the streets around the Castle are well worth a mooch. Have lunch at Y Crochan or a pint in one of the many pubs.
- Day trip to Bardsey Island with Colin the boat man, to spy seals, puffins, and the end of the famous Pilgrim trail with its burial ground of 1000 saints.
- Ride the Ffestiniog steam railway from Caernarfon to Beddgelert, through the stunning Snowdonia National Park.

- A retreat of 3 cottages set amongst 10 acres of rewilded coastal farmyard with a private beach. Only available as a whole-site rental.
- Cottage: 2 bedrooms (1 king or twin beds, the other with 1 king + twins or 4 single beds), shared bathroom with shower/tub, kitchen/diner, sitting room with logburner
- Barn: 1 bedroom (king + 2 fold-down bunks), bathroom with shower/tub, kitchen/diner, living room with Smart TV
- Dairy: 2 bedrooms (1 king/twin, 1 queen), bathroom with shower/tub, fully equipped kitchen with dining tables for 14
- Firepit BBQ and Mørso woodfired pizza oven
- Basic supplies and a welcome basket
- Board games, playing cards, jigsaws and books
- 2 x travel cots, 1 x highchair and 2 x Tripp Trapp chairs

- Booking conditions: Min 2/3 nights (Fri-Mon – with check out available on the Sunday) or 4 nights (Mon-Fri) outside school holidays, and 7 nights (Fri-Fri) during high season; school holidays. Closed Jan-mid Feb. Check the live availability calendar below for exact minimum stays applicable.
- There is a Mid stay full clean and linen change of £150 payable directly to the owner.
- Guests are left with 1 x bag charcoal, 1 x tub of logs for the pizza oven/BBQ and 1 basket of logs for the log burner in the Cottage – if you wish to order extra there is a charge: Bag charcoal – £7 and 40ltr tub logs – £10.
- Remember to pack: torches, binoculars, beach towels, walking boots, marshmallows. Kayaks/bikes/paddleboards/surfboards if you have them
