Space & setting.

Hidden in the folds of peaceful Nottinghamshire countryside, 2 unique hideaways sit side by side on an old farm estate: one a former hay barn, the other a disused grain silo. Both born of the land, they’ve been beautifully transformed into industrial-chic retreats with real character. The humble hay barn turned boho bolthole is a quirky, light-filled space with huge crittal windows, gorgeous curved velvet sofas and kitsch art, much of it Disney themed. Just across the courtyard, the old silo offers something even more unusual — a totally circular design. Upstairs, there’s a mezzanine bedroom, tucked under the eaves with floor-to-ceiling views of the countryside; downstairs, a vintage sofa by the logburner, a gorgeous bathroom and a boutiquey kitchen with brass accents. Stay in either, switch off and soak up the peace — or head out for yoga, massages and movie nights on the estate. There are 15 acres of fields and farmland on your doorstep, plus wider countryside trails and an Arboretum nearby. Or if you’re just too relaxed to walk far, there’s a pub in the village!

Getting here: drive, or train to Loughborough / East Midlands Parkway, then taxi (10 mins)

Bonington Farm is the vision of husband-and-wife duo Sonya and Raffaele. With collective backgrounds in design, events, brand collaborations and photography, the farm is their take on the ideal hideout – effortless, characterful, and quietly cool. Set across 15 acres, it’s a collection of 4 special spaces, designed for everything from laid-back weekend breaks to big, sprawling gatherings. A place where fires crackle late, mornings start slow, and the countryside stretches for miles. More than just a stay, the farm plays host to shoots, events, and wellness retreats, offering a backdrop that’s both relaxed and refined. Owners, Sonya and Raffaele
