“My husband and I both grew up locally. I used to walk my dogs past the shepherd’s house here and always loved its views. We live in London now, but wanted to keep a foot in the area to return to with our 2 boys during the holidays. We’ve kept the interiors neutral and natural to ensure the main voice comes from the surroundings and the elements. The smell of the air that inhabits most of central and highland Scotland is so reassuring. When we’re here, we can spend days just pottering and never leaving — cooking, reading, gardening, planting and building. Every task has a backdrop that stops you in your tracks.” Owner, Cara
They love
“The silence of the property is remarkable, with 360 degree views of nature around you. At night we love to watch the sun set then come in and light the fire and hunker down. Everything feels meditative and extra cosy from the warmth of the property.”
We love
The stunning kitchen, flooded with light.

Remote; you’ll need a car. The house is on an old rundown farmyard; roads are not tarmacked and nothing is manicured.

Yes up to 2 dogs are welcome for an additional cost of £25 per dog/per stay. They must be kept off furniture and on a lead at all times in the wider estate as this is a working farm. They can be off-lead in the Farmhouse’s garden but it is not fully secure.
Unfortunately not, the property is remote so turnarounds are costly.
Incredibly! At the end of a road, that hardly anyone comes past. You may see the odd groundskeeper.
