Ludlow’s historic castle sits above the town, but it’s the food scene here that really stands out. From its farmers’ markets to its Michelin-starred restaurants, Ludlow is a town that knows good food.
Must visit
In late summer, the rugged Long Mynd heath is cloaked in purple heather, as far as the eye can see. Bilberry grows here too, which attract unusual insects and birdlife. Keep an eye out for a green hairstreak butterfly or stonechat amongst the gorse.
