Romance (the Kip way)

We’ve never really bought into romance as a once-a-year performance. Grand gestures on cue, roses that wilt by Tuesday…not our thing.

We think love shows up in the small stuff. The cuppa you didn’t ask for. The hug after a rubbish day. Grabbing their favourite snack because you saw it and thought of them. Phones down. Actually listening. A shared laugh, an unexpected “thank you”, an unprompted “I’m proud of you”. These micro moments act as emotional glue; they’re resilience.

That said, we’re BIG believers in proper time together too. The kind you have to plan for. Booking the getaway. Sorting the logistics. Choosing each other on a random weekend, not just Valentine’s Day or anniversaries. And when you do escape, the setting matters – wildly romantic with a blissful bed and dreamy rolltop; totally secluded with no WiFi (what we all actually need) or simple and pared back. It’s amazing how good it is to just go somewhere cool with someone you’re into… and just be.

So here’s to going big on the micro moments in 2026 – and hopefully carving out a little time away, too. Whether you surprise someone, or plan it together.
