Space & setting.

There’s a timeless, Kernow-of-old feel to Port Isaac – local fisherman still haul their daily catch onto the quay, the mellow sound of sea shanties fills the air on warm summer evenings and narrow cobbled lanes meander through rows of ancient cottages. Inspired by childhoods spent in the area, the owners have stamped their creativity all over this characterful cottage. Beachy vibes and seashore finds – stripes, wicker, driftwood – mingle with splashes of rustic-chic: there’s a sage green four-poster, sheepskin-topped sofas, jute rugs. And at the top, your very own sundowner terrace, with views that tumble down over the village’s pretty whitewashed houses to the harbour.

It’s a minute’s walk to the sea front for morning swims and exceptional restaurants: the foodie scene here is legendary, with 2 Nathan Outlaw Michelin-starred restaurants in the village. Walk the rugged north coast path to secluded coves for peaceful beach days, or go surfing, mussel foraging and cycle the Camel Trail. Quintessential Cornish living.

Getting here: you’ll need to drive

“We both spent a lot of our childhood in Cornwall, and we dream of moving there one day. We especially love Port Isaac because there is something beautifully authentic about it so when the opportunity came to buy and renovate this beautiful cottage we jumped at the chance. Despite not living in Cornwall full time, we are at least getting closer!” Owners Skye and George

My Kip favourites

They love
“The window seat in the bay window is the ideal place to lie and have a cup of tea with a book…the sun comes up over the valley and floods the house and you can hear the seagulls and see the harbour. Likewise getting cosy up in the top snug is really special in a big winter storm.”

We love
The exquisite design and that four-poster bed.
