“My husband and I both work in film, so we travel a lot for work. We are based between Los Angeles and the UK, where we try to spend as much time as possible with family here in Wiltshire; all my siblings and parents are within a 20-minute drive. We purchased the cottage in early 2023 after deciding we needed more space than our 2-bed flat in Hackney. It was the first property we saw and we were instantly smitten! The previous family lived there for 30 years and had lovingly nurtured the garden, but the interiors needed a lot of work. We have slowly redecorated and evened out lots of the floors upstairs, some of which were sloping to over 1 foot across the room! We absolutely love spending time here.” Owners, Bex and James
They love
“Relaxing here, especially getting cosy by the fire in winter. It’s the perfect place to unwind and forget about the world.”
We love
The vintage bellows, by the open fire.

Surrounds.
- Stride across the fields to Planks Farm Shop to stock up on local produce, and stop for a kitchen lunch in their café.
- Or go for a countryside ramble to the pub and back again (30 mins’ walk each way).
- Rummage for antiques and vintage treasures in Digger and Mojo’s emporium.
- Walk through indigo-carpeted woodlands in bluebell season at nearby Erlestoke Woods.
- Kids will love the country village lifestyle: fetching eggs from the local honesty box and feeding carrots to the donkey neighbours.
- Take them to Bowood House too, which has an incredible playground.
- We love a lunch at Pythouse Kitchen Garden, with its enchanting 18thC walled garden.
- Or treat yourself to seafood at canalside At The Marina restaurant in Devizes.
- Avebury’s neolithic stone circles are even more impressive than Stonehenge in our mind; it’s a short drive away from the house.
