“I’m an artist and professional musician originally from Yorkshire. I was based in London but have relocated back to the stunning Yorkshire coast to create a collection of boutique spaces, anchored by the Mēkā gallery. Many of the furnishings are bespoke and handmade, inspired by my time in both Japan and Scandinavia.”Owner, Jake

The curation of original artworks, and the location — in the heart of where you want to be, but hidden away.

Local eateries tend to open Thurs-Sun only. The beds cannot be twinned. Won’t suit those with mobility issues; steps to the front door, and upstairs bedrooms.
Surrounds.
- The Old Town is always a beautiful time warp and a good coffee is available 7 days a week across the street. Best followed by a browse in Mēkā gallery.
- Excellent local eateries include vegan hotspot The Nut & Nettle, The Old Lifeboat Station for fresh seafood, and charcuterie platters at The Board Inn.
- You’re 3 miles from Bridlington’s golden coastline. Visit natural wonders like Flamborough Head’s seal colony and the RSPB reserve at Bempton, where cliff balconies offer views of puffins and gannets. Sunsets here are epic, too.
- Walk on the sand and swim in the calm shallows of Fraisthorpe beach (parking and great refreshments at The Cow Shed). Dog friendly, too.
- Dane’s Dyke nature reserve is a magical location to watch the moon rise over the sea.
- Walk a stretch of the Yorkshire Wolds Way (famously painted by Hockney during his time living in Bridlington). The trail winds over low, rolling hills, along chalk downs and into serene valleys all the to the coast.
- Set sail on The Yorkshire Belle, which glides up the coast from Bridlington Harbour.
