Space & setting.

Bang on the border of Somerset, Devon and Dorset border lies an organic farm whose fields and woodland are home to a clutch of incredible hideouts. Two are cedar-clad roundhouses, with boho-chic interiors and alfresco bath houses for starlit soaks. A treehouse is hidden away in its own copse, brilliantly designed to resemble an oversized birdbox with round windows and larch walls. The cabin is pretty much a cottage, with masses of space, a lovely garden and a magazine-worthy style. But the brand-new lodge really steals the show; ridiculously beautiful interiors plus an outdoor spa just for you, featuring a wood-fired hot tub and sauna (as if the alfresco copper bathtub wasn’t enough).

Strung with fairylights and full of lovely detail (heated blankets, local cider as a welcome), all are superbly romantic, and all have a private garden with a firepit to toast marshmallows and star gaze; night skies here are enormous. If you’re here for a couple of days, just chill – there’s a shared Woodland Sauna, and the fields around you are home to wild deer; beautiful to watch. If you’re staying longer, make the most of the nearby Jurassic Coast. And whatever you do, go for dinner at the Lord Poullett Arms, one of our favourite-ever gastro pubs, just 20 mins’ walk away – plus a moonlit stroll home.

Getting here: drive or taxi to Crewkerne then taxi (2 miles)

Owner of Boutique Glamping Somerset

“We’ve been working to create this beautiful organic farm for 3 generations. When travelling the world, I was so inspired by all of the incredible properties I encountered in nature that when I returned home I worked with a natural building company for 5 years before setting up this glamping site with my brother on the family farm.” Owner Paul

My Kip favourites

He loves
“The birdsong is fabulous, especially in spring. And there’s nothing like sitting on your deck watching the sun go down with a glass of wine – all units face south – or around your fire pit toasting marshmallows under the stars.”

We love
The fabulous décor. Bang on-trend, with lots of beautiful little details such as woven hangings and starburst mirrors.

  • "Second stay and it was just as amazing as the first. Love this place."

    Teresa and Claire

The farm generates 50kw of its electricity through solar PV, and has its own spring water borehole that supplies the properties. The units themselves are eco builds, and clad in locally milled cedar and larch.

  • Go for brunch at Hive Café at Burton Bradstock then walk along the beautiful beach and coastal path round to West Bay, with its golden cliffs, the setting for Broadchurch.
  • We love Lyme Regis, a curve of pastel Georgian houses and the famous Cobb Harbour. Get a Baboo gelato while you’re here, locally made, their Flu Buster sorbet is a thing of beauty – lemon and orange juice, honey, ginger and cayenne.
