*Brand new*

Tucked away amongst the fruit trees and flowers of a peaceful Cornish smallholding is this sweet little hut for 2. Perfect for solo escapes or romantic retreats, the owners have managed to squeeze in all the essentials plus some extra delights; a library of books, essential oils to diffuse, a film projector with Netflix – there’s even a tiny log burner for cosy nights in. Their loving touch is felt throughout, from the hand-picked flowers and linen curtains made by Hannah, to Jayce’s handmade joinery; if you come in season, you might even receive fresh produce plucked from their organic garden and greenhouses.

Cheerful interiors in peony pinks, poppy reds and apple greens make it a total joy to be inside the hut (even on the rainiest days), but you’ll want to venture out to explore all that West Penwith has to offer. There are walks along the coastal path, waves to be surfed and quirky towns to while away an afternoon or 2; St Ives and Penzance are lovely for brunch and a mooch around galleries and independents. Return to your hut by nightfall though; this is a Dark Sky Zone, so evenings here are magical. Light the fire outside, lie back on blankets and count the constellations.

Getting here: drive, or train to Penzance or St Ives, then taxi (15 mins)

Owners of Riverside Hut

Jayce grew up in St Ives, and is a very keen surfer who spends a lot of his time in the sea. Hannah, originally a Geography teacher from Kent, settled in St Ives, and is passionate about food, interior design and exploring the Cornish coastline. Together, they love to travel, but also love home comforts. They’ve lived on this plot of land for 4 years, growing organic veg and flowers whilst building their dream home, Bamboo House. They built the Riverside Hut to share their little slice of tranquility in this lush and leafy valley.

  • "5 stars are not enough! If you're looking for a place to relax in beautiful surroundings, with greenery around, sound of a stream, lots of singing birds and beautifully kept garden, look no further. The green house, water lily pond and swing by the stream with shimmering dragon flies look like set from a fairy tale location! Accommodation is super cozy, finished to the highest standards, location is very convenient, it's a short drive from beautiful coves and hosts are amazing!"

  • “My husband Chris and I have just stayed in this beautiful hut to finish our honeymoon trip in Cornwall. We absolutely loved everything - the decor, facilities and location. It’s the best place we have ever stayed in! Hannah and Jayce were brilliant hosts who couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful. We feel very lucky to have come across this gem of a place to stay, and will definitely be back!”
