“I spent my 20s and 30s travelling and living abroad, mostly in Asia, before moving back and into this flat, which I filled with maps and travelling treasures. When the opportunity to buy the downstairs flat came up, I snapped it up and moved, then gutted and rebuilt this one. I’m a freelance stylist and love welcoming guests to my former home, and introducing them to everything this great county has to offer. I spend a lot of time travelling around Norfolk in Nelson, my vintage Morris Minor, so know all the best places!” Owner, Sarah
She loves
“Helping guests plan their stay by way of a comprehensive and exclusive online guest guide, offering the chance to delve deeper into the surroundings when booking an ‘Experience Stay’.”
We love
The traditional porcelain china and vintage bone-handled cutlery. Makes every meal feel a bit special.

Surrounds.
- Holt is 3 miles from the stunning North Norfolk coast. Keen walkers can hike up to Blakeney Point from Cley to experience one of the last true wildernesses in the UK, complete with a resident colony of seals.
- Jump on the steam train from Holt and chug through the countryside past traditional flint villages and out to the coastal town of Sheringham.
- For potted family fun, go crabbing at Blakeney quay. Or just buy a delicious dressed Cromer crab from the fishermen for lunch!
- Norfolk has the greatest concentration of medieval churches in the world. Our top 5 are in the nearby Glaven Valley – Blakeney, as impressive as any city church; Wiveton, with its mooring rope marks clearly carved into the walls; cathedral-like Cley; idyllic Glandford; and round-tower Letheringsett. You can easily visit them all in a day.
- The Coastal Exploration company can take you out on a traditional wood sailing vessel to explore the beautiful saltmarsh habitat off-shore and open water.
- Ex-BBC cameraman Martin Hayward Smith runs brilliant Landrover safaris – photograph countryside geese and hares or go on a watery tideline adventure.
- The Owl Trail will lead you around Holt’s oldest and best hidden spots; just follow the 12 plaques around town.
- If you’re here in summer, July is festival time; in winter, seasonal markets and fairy lights add to Holt’s chocolate-box appeal.
