It all started a few years ago. Harry and George had always had a keen interest in building and constructing things – initially, it was treehouses, speakers and furniture, then they built their first cabin on Harry’s family farm. For a small structure, it was a little more complex than you might think. With composting loos, solar power, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom all integrated into a small space, the process threw up all sorts of challenges. Though it was stressful, they were delighted to create such a unique holiday experience with such a low carbon impact, and went on to create more. Their aim is to unlock amazing places for holiday makers all over the UK.

Parking is 300m from the cabin, with a trolley to transport your belongings. The surrounds can get muddy in wet weather. No WiFi.

Lewes Castle
- There’s no need to go anywhere. There are fields to admire and birds overhead right here, and nearby footpaths if you want an easy meander. Bring a book, delicious things to eat and drink, and go slow for a few days.
- But this is a brilliant base for Sussex if you want to explore. Hop in the car / taxi to Lewes station (10 mins).
- Walk the Seven Sisters. This is our favourite one: huge skies, sea air, rolling chalk grassland and those extraordinary white cliffs dropping into the Channel. Head for Seven Sisters Country Park and walk towards Cuckmere Haven, or tackle a stretch of the South Downs Way along the clifftops.
- Spend a day in Lewes (10 mins). Rummage through the antique shops, explore the independents, climb up to Lewes Castle for views across the rooftops, then find a good pub for lunch.
- Book a tasting at Rathfinny Wine Estate, an excellent Sussex vineyard tucked into its own valley, with a restaurant overlooking the vines.
- Bring walking boots and tackle the Alfriston and Cuckmere circular (7 miles). Follow the River Cuckmere through the Downs, then end back in lovely Alfriston village, all old houses, little shops and a pub.
- Go to the opera, alfresco. Nearby Glyndebourne gives a glorious excuse to dress up, pack an extravagant picnic and spend an evening listening to world-class opera in the middle of the Sussex countryside. Book well ahead.
- Spend an afternoon in Firle. Tiny, flint-built and ridiculously pretty, with the South Downs rising behind it.
- Visit Charleston, the colourful home of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, where every available surface was a canvas for the Bloomsbury artists. You can tour the house and wander the walled garden.
- Day trip to Brighton (35 mins): sea air, a great vibe and excellent shopping in the Lanes.

Sliding
30% deposit, with the balance due 8 weeks prior to stay.
Cancellations
8+ weeks prior to stay: deposit refunded, minus a £40 processing fee.
6-8 weeks prior to stay: deposit retained, 70% balance refunded, minus a £40 processing fee.
4-6 weeks prior to stay: 50% of the total booking fee retained, 50% refunded, minus a £40 processing fee.
No refunds if booking cancelled within 4 weeks of stay. These terms also apply to any booking amendments or date changes.

Absolutely. There is a £35 flat charge, and dog bags, bowls and treats are provided. Please bear in mind though that the cabins are not enclosed, and nearby livestock means dogs will need to be kept on leads when outside.
You’re given a bag of firewood, with kindling, which is enough for 1 use of the woodburner and firepit. There’s the option to purchase unlimited wood for a flat £25 charge.
Yes, of course. You can either bring a travel cot, or co-sleep in the kingsize bed.
They are sat in the same field, but at either end, with a copse of trees in the middle which provides privacy -you can’t see one another. The wider setting is fields and a village; there’s a school 2 fields away so you may hear children playing during break time.
Easy! Laughton is a 10-minute taxi/Uber from Lewes station. Once you’re here, you can walk to the village shop, cafe and pub.
If you want to explore wider Sussex, you Uber back to the station and catch trains eg Seaford for Cuckmere Haven and Seven Sisters walk.
