“In August 2019 we purchased the near-derelict Coddington Mill. As a listed building, within a conservation area, it was a pretty daunting project. But despite the risks, we fell in love with The Mill, its beautiful gardens and the surrounding area, and decided to jump in with both feet and take on a 10-year restoration project.” Owners Sally & Matt

Sorry, no children or pets. No swimming. No fishing without prior agreement.
Surrounds.
- Cycle (or slow drive) up to The Cock O’Barton, a proper local with low beams, good ales and the kind of Sunday roasts people plan their weekends around.
- There’s also a really cool brunch spot within cycling distance – The Lost Barn. Turkish eggs with zataar and roasted chickpeas; smoked salmon bagels, that sort of thing.
- Lace up your walking boots: the stretch of Sandstone Ridge between Burwardsley and Larkton Hall promises amazing views across Cheshire into North Wales.
- Then head to The Pheasant Inn for a post-walk pint: tables out front when the weather holds, a fire inside when it doesn’t.
- Historic Chester is 9 miles away. Spend a day admiring its Roman walls and wandering through the famous Rows (800-year-old, timber-framed galleries, lined with shops and cafes).
- Go for brunch at Bellis Brothers Farm Shop then pick up supplies to cook with back at the cabin. Local cheeses, baked goods, and general lovely produce.
- Beeston Castle is really impressive – a ruin set high above the plains, with long views and a sense of exposure that contrasts the shelter of the lake.
