“We feel this cabin offers a unique blend of nature and comfort. Nestled in the woods, it’s a perfect spot for those who want to reconnect with the outdoors by foraging for food, cooking over an open fire, and heating a hot tub to add that element of reward and self-sufficiency, enhancing the overall experience of reconnecting with nature. Guests can tap into their survival instincts while enjoying a touch of luxury. If you want a break from the wilderness, pubs and bars in Bath are nearby. It’s a place where you can create lasting memories, combining adventure with relaxation.” Owners, Gaby and Matt
She loves
“Drinking my morning tea sat on the vintage bentwood chairs, as the morning sun comes through the double doors.”
We loved
Playing boules in the evening light then getting creative in the outdoor kitchen.

You need to walk past the owners’ house to reach the cabin, but you’re totally secluded once here. Can be tricky to find parking right outside. Sorry no pets.
Surrounds.
- Soak up the views with a walk to the top of Solsbury Hill, which is just behind the cabin, and inspired Peter Gabriel’s 1977 song of the same name.
- Slow the pace with a paddle along the River Avon – there are 2 SUPs that you can hire from the cabin.
- Breeze along the canal path to Bath on an electric bike, which you can rent from a shop on the local high street. Lock up your wheels and take a stroll around the Georgian architecture, indy shops, museums and beautiful parks.
- Owner Gaby is a real foodie: her suggestions include Castle Farm, Midford for the region’s best Sunday roast (they also do great curries on Fridays – book ahead for both).
- Take a dip in Cleveland Outdoor Pool, the UK’s oldest outdoor swimming pool which has just reopened following a much-anticipated restoration.
- Cycle to Bradford on Avon, stopping at barges selling cakes and pastries as you go. Stroll around the shops in Bradford then refuel for the ride back at the Bunch of Grapes or Timbrell’s Yard on the river.
- For something relaxing, Gaby, a Pilates instructor, offers 1-2-1 Pilates classes, as well as reflexology and tarot readings. She can also arrange for a masseuse to come to the cabin.
