Surrounded by the open fields and wide skies of Nottinghamshire countryside, this striking design cabin is a playful yet peaceful escape for groups seeking slow living and good company. Inside, the aesthetic is refined yet welcoming — think rich textures, vintage finds and mellow lighting. The bespoke kitchen, with its zellige tiles, antique sink and brass fittings, makes cooking a real joy, and there’s a Sonos for your favourite dinner playlists. The sleeping setup is a little quirky, making it fun for a group of friends or families: 4 separate sleeping nooks, stacked up like a doll’s house and curtained off for sound-proofing.

Take morning coffees outside to watch the mist rise from the fields, then go walking or book yoga and wellness sessions; come sunset, gather for a soak in the wood-fired hot tub followed by aperitifs on the sofas. Shelves of board games will lure everyone from their screens — or book a movie night in The Film House, a short wander away, all lounge-y seats and popcorn. Like going out out, but way easier.

Getting here: train to Loughborough or East Midlands Parkway, then taxi (10 mins)

Bonington Farm is the vision of husband-and-wife duo Sonya and Raffaele. With collective backgrounds in design, events, brand collaborations and photography, the farm is their take on the ideal hideout – effortless, characterful, and quietly cool. Set across 15 acres, it’s a collection of 4 special spaces, designed for everything from laid-back weekend breaks to big, sprawling gatherings. A place where fires crackle late, mornings start slow, and the countryside stretches for miles. More than just a stay, the farm plays host to shoots, events, and wellness retreats, offering a backdrop that’s both relaxed and refined. Owners, Sonya and Raffaele
