This bold reimagining of a country escape will capture the hearts of those who love the daring and unexpected. Tucked away in a corner of the historic Heythrop Estate, it’s a designer’s daydream straight from 1970s California; all mid-century curves, warm wood, sunlit tones and a laid-back glamour that feels pure Hollywood Hills.

Honeycomb walls and burnt-blush hues wrap each room in a sumptuous calm; outside, rituals are just as dreamy. Start the day with a sauna followed by coffee on the deck; spend the afternoon in the wood-fired hot tub, with tall evergreens towering above you. There’s even a gloriously retro firepit for late-night conversations. And when you’re ready to explore, you’re perfectly placed for it. Head into Chipping Norton for indie cafés, foodie pubs and boutiques; over to Soho Farmhouse for swims and cocktails; or hop between chocolate-box villages that feel lifted from a period film. For design-loving families and groups of friends craving something different — something with character, warmth and swoony vintage flair — this is incredible.

Sonya, owner Soho Bonington

“The villa was originally one of an exclusive collection of individual homes, set within the 440-acre, Grade II-listed Heythrop Park Estate. When we saw it, it had been untouched for a number of years. We worked with Set The Space to oversee the restoration, blending architectural preservation with modern curation for a considered approach to design that respected the property’s historic roots. ⁣This was the first time this property was offered to the open market, presenting a special opportunity to be a part of Heythrop Park’s storied history.⁣” Owners, Raffaele and Sonya

They love
“The unique redesign, and incredibly peaceful but central Cotswolds location.”

We love
Designer Sophie Stevenson’s sophisticated retro style. Think linen-draped bedrooms, sculptural lighting, soft edges and calm spaces, punctuated by starburst mirrors and bold geometric patterns.

FAQs.

£500, payable directly to the owners after booking. This will be refunded (assuming no charges are incurred) as soon as the housekeeper has checked the house following your stay.

It’s pretty private; there’s a bungalow next door but it has a separate entrance.

Unfortunately not as turnaround costs are too high to facilitate this.
